Founder's story

How a personal challenge became a product

When I moved to Germany, I faced a double challenge: learning a new language while going through professional retraining in German at the same time. Words, terms and rules piled up faster than I could organize them — notes scattered across notebooks, screenshots and browser tabs.

I looked for a tool that would bring it all together — and didn't find one. So I combined my experience as a product manager and developer to build Berlingvo: first for myself, then for my family, then I realized others needed it too.

The idea

Berlingvo isn't just flashcards. It's an environment where the learner, the teacher and technology work together.

For self-learners and those studying in a group: a spaced repetition algorithm, personal progress tracking, and a library of ready-made decks — so you spend time on the language, not on routine.

For teachers: simple tools to create materials, assignments, and exams — so more time stays for actual interaction with students. Built-in analytics helps pinpoint knowledge gaps and topics that students find most challenging.

I believe the path to a language is shorter when structure, methodology, and motivation are in one place. I hope Berlingvo becomes part of your journey.
