How to use the dictionary
Type a word in the search bar – for example Haus, gehen or schön – and get a full word card.
Type a word in German
The beginning of a word is enough: suggestions appear as you type. No need to type the article.
Need to go from your language to German?
Press ⇄ next to the field: the direction switches and you can type the word in your own language.
Choose the translation language
The “DE → RU” button opens a list: Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Turkish, Arabic and English.
Base form and umlauts
Enter the word in its base form: Haus, gehen, schön. You can replace umlauts: ä → ae, ö → oe, ü → ue, ß → ss.
What is on the word card
Article, plural, pronunciation and audio, examples with translation and grammar – conjugation or declension.
Review your words
After you sign up, a word goes into your Smart Deck with one tap and into spaced repetition.
The dictionary stores single words, not whole phrases. If a word is not in the database yet, AI will translate it – available after free sign-up, within a daily limit.
